Delete your account
You can permanently delete your DrChef account and everything tied to it. This is irreversible — once we've processed the request, there is no recovery.
From the app (fastest)
- Open DrChef on your phone.
- Go to Profile → Edit profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete my account".
- Confirm with your password.
Your account is queued for deletion immediately and is permanently removed within 30 days. You can sign in again before that window closes to cancel.
By email
If you can't access the app, write to hello@tasteitafter.com with the subject "Delete my account" from the email address tied to your account.
We will verify ownership and process your request within 7 business days. You will receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete.
What gets deleted
- Your profile (email, display name, avatar, bio, language)
- Recipes you created
- Meal plans, pantry items, shopping lists
- Likes, comments, follows
- In-app notifications
- Cached recipe translations tied to your account
- Authentication credentials
Encrypted backups containing your data are purged within 90 days. Aggregate, anonymous usage statistics that cannot be tied to you may be retained.
Export before you delete
If you'd like a JSON archive of your data first, write to hello@tasteitafter.com with subject "Export my data" — we send the archive within 30 days, free.
